“Write once, publish many.”

That’s the goal of Unity Technologies’ Series C funding round of $181 million, which the company announced Wednesday. Unity wants to help developers of all sizes create games that support all hardware platforms.

Unity is the platform behind the hit mobile AR game Pokemon Go, in which the augmented-reality aspect lets players see the game’s cartoon monsters imposed over real-life locations.

Unity’s technology and programming tools are also behind thousands of indie games across PCs, phones and game consoles. So hopefully this money lets small developers realize their creative visions and helps VR and AR grow as platforms with unique games.
