Alt+S is a shortcut key most often used to open the slide show settings in PowerPoint.
How to use the Alt+S shortcut key
To use the keyboard shortcut Alt+S, press and hold either Alt key on the keyboard and while continuing to hold, press the “S” key with the same hand or the other hand.
Using Alt+S on Computer Hope
On all Computer Hope pages, pressing Alt+S selects the search at the top of each of our pages.
Alt+S in Microsoft Outlook
In Microsoft Outlook, pressing Alt+S sends the e-mail being composed.
Alt+S in Microsoft PowerPoint
In Microsoft PowerPoint, the Alt+S shortcut key opens the Slide Show tab in the Ribbon. Once in the Slide Show tab after pressing the shortcut, you’ll also have the option to press an additional key to select an option in the Slide Show tab. For example, after pressing Alt+S if you press “B,” starts the slide show from the beginning.
Alt+S in Microsoft Word
In Microsoft Word, pressing Alt+S opens the References tab in the Ribbon. Once in the References tab after pressing the shortcut, you’ll also have the option to press an additional key to select an option in the References tab. For example, after pressing Alt+S if you press “T,” it would open the Table of Contents option.
