Many of our users would like to know the difference between the Internet and intranet. This question can be partially answered by looking the each of the words’ prefixes; inter means between and intra means within. Essentially, the Internet is open to the entire world, whereas an intranet is a private space, usually within a business.
Another difference between the two is that you may access an intranet from the Internet, but not the other way around. Also, an intranet is much faster as it doesn’t rely on data from around the world because its data is stored locally on the company’s servers.
